The Commander of the Air Force, Air Brigadier General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, took part in the Joint Plenary Meeting of the Department of Defense and Security (DESEG) and the National Union of Defense Materials Industries (SIMDE), held at the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP). The event took place in a hybrid format.
On the occasion, the Commander of the Air Force presented a detailed overview of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), covering relevant topics about its structure, operations and some projects under development.
“It’s important for each Force Commander to come here and show their objectives, how the Force is moving forward with its re-equipment and how this can solve problems for the industry itself, which needs our support in maintaining, updating and acquiring new equipment. Whether it’s airspace control, with our radars and consoles, or aircraft and other supplies, industry is essential in this process,” said Air Brigadier Damasceno.
The audience was made up of guests from DESEG, representatives of companies associated with SIMDE, FAB Generals, military authorities from other forces, public security, professionals from the defense industrial base and representatives of the Defense Councils (COMDEFESA) from various states.
“We were honored to welcome Brigadier Damasceno, who presented the importance of the Air Force in humanitarian projects, technology and state protection. FIESP is grateful for the participation of the Commander of the Air Force, an important figure for the future of Brazil. The FAB is to be congratulated, and we are very happy to have you here. Thank you very much for your resilience in a country with so many challenges,” said Carlos Erane de Aguiar, Director of DESEG at FIESP and President of SIMDE.
The videoconference provided a platform for exchanging information and discussing joint strategies, strengthening collaboration between military institutions and the defense industry in Brazil. The FAB’s participation in the event reaffirmed its commitment to remaining at the forefront of technology and innovation, always seeking excellence in its operations and the country’s security.
